About this policy

This privacy policy explains how Quartz Ripple collects, uses, stores and protects personal information. It covers the Quartz Ripple website, the Story Forge tool and enquiries you make about creative work.

What information Quartz Ripple collects

• Account information: your name, email address, sign-in details and account preferences.
• Project content: what you create in Story Forge — briefs, profiles, product ideas, revenue scenarios, visual direction, AI refinement requests and generated drafts.
• Enquiry information: if you enquire about creative work, your name, contact details, project or product details, budget, timing and any messages or files you provide.
• Purchase information: records of purchases, payment confirmations and the payment provider's references. Card details are collected and handled only by our payment provider — Quartz Ripple does not receive or store your full card details.
• Complimentary access codes: if you redeem an access code, a record that it was redeemed and by which account.
• Communication records: messages you send by email or through the tool, and any notes Quartz Ripple makes about your enquiry or project.
• Technical information: standard technical logs needed to run and secure the service, and basic browser or device information your browser shares.

How Quartz Ripple uses information

• To run Story Forge: creating your account, saving your projects and drafts, generating AI-assisted content and showing your brief.
• To manage purchases and access: confirming payment, granting the right level of access, keeping records and honouring access periods.
• To respond to enquiries and deliver commissioned projects, if you enquire about creative work.
• To keep the service secure, troubleshoot problems and understand how features are used (without storing your project content in analytics logs).
• To meet legal, tax and recordkeeping obligations.
• For marketing only if you have separately opted in — see 'Marketing emails' below.

AI processing

Story Forge's AI features send the information you submit, along with brief context such as your profile and project settings, to AI providers supplied through our AI service gateway so that results can be generated. Retention and training practices depend on the provider used for a given request.

We do not use your project content to advertise to you, and we do not include your content in analytics logs. If you need details about the providers used for a particular feature, contact catherine@quartzripple.com.

You should not enter personal information about other people (including your customers) or confidential third-party information into AI features. See the AI Policy for more detail.

Service providers

Quartz Ripple uses service providers to run the website and tool. Our app platform provides hosting, accounts, database storage and AI processing; payments are handled by Stripe; email delivery, where enabled, is handled by our email provider. Each provider processes information only as needed to supply its service.

Storage and security

Information is stored in the service platform's managed database, with access controlled by Quartz Ripple. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information, including access controls and encryption in transit.

No system is completely secure. If a data breach affects your information, Quartz Ripple will assess the situation and notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if required by law.

Cookies and similar technologies

Story Forge uses only what it needs to run: a sign-in session, security-related storage and your saved preferences in your browser. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics tracking. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Cross-border processing

Some service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where this applies, providers are responsible for complying with Australian privacy requirements for transferred information. Contact catherine@quartzripple.com if you need current details about where your information is processed.

Retention

We keep account, project and purchase information while your account is active, and purchase records for as long as required for tax and recordkeeping. You can request deletion of your account and project information at any time via catherine@quartzripple.com; some records may be retained where legally required. Backups may retain information for a limited period before it is fully removed.

Your choices

• Access and correction: request a copy of your information or ask for corrections via catherine@quartzripple.com.
• Deletion: request deletion of your account and project information (some records may be retained where legally required).
• Marketing: opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us.
• Complaints: raise a privacy concern with Quartz Ripple first; you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Marketing emails

Quartz Ripple sends product examples and updates only where you have separately opted in. The opt-in is a clear, separate choice — it is never bundled into account sign-up or purchase, and access to what you have purchased never depends on marketing consent. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
